The south pacific of Costa Rica is beautiful and still unspoiled nature. Wildlife is in abundance! To enjoy this wild area there are a few important things to know:
Getting to Corcovado is difficult. The road is not in good shape and it will take about 9 hours from San Jose, by 4x4 .The most recommended way is by plane.
If you decide to visit this part of Costa Rica, be ready for areas with no electricity or if the area does have power it may be turned off by 9:00 pm.
- Lots of humidity and heat, this is the rain forest. There is no air-conditioning found here.
- Lots of hiking in the jungle .You can expect daily trips of 4 up to 9 hours walking. Being in very good physical condition is important.
- However the wildlife is all over and you will be able to see plenty of it, from the terrace of your room.
- Not many facilities. Some places have no hot water....or no water at all…
- But don’t let these conditions discourage! A visit to south pacific area of Corcovado is a real nature immersion. Fantastic!
